Following the release of my first album “Daily Process” which was released on STRUGGS label in 2006 I have bloomed as a single mother and in my career as a team leader working with people in recovery from additions which I am passionate about.
Very rarely do I feel cynical, however with the everyday changes and challenges sometimes I do think and wonder “What’s the point in life?”
In my earth years I’ve learnt that it’s inspiringly important to really have something to look forward to. Therefore, whilst I’m often excited and feeling good as hell and high in life, especially when I’ve accomplished a goal or vision that I’ve personally worked hard. On the other hand, there are moments that I can also be intensely frustrated when I feel like I’ve missed an opportunity or lost out. There are highs and low being an independent artist and I am working in my 9-5 job plus growing up and living in UK, London has it’s seasonal sunlight and moon struck darkness sliced with a coldness which has me consistently re-adjusting to a new found awaking of English weather. So no I haven’t been diagnosed with S.A.D (Seasonal affective disorder) however I do relate to some of the traits. Especially when I don’t see the sun shining early in the mornings and I’m reminded by the birds singing and the wood land foxes that times are changing. Real Fast.
I’m fortunate that I have Faith in God, A Great Family and that I’m surrounded by bless people. However, there are many people than ever before subjected to being isolated, becoming homeless and bankrupted in being at peace.
So I’ve learnt to appreciate every smile I see, all the laughs I hear, and I meditate my mind to think of those things that are blessed. You see Mary J. Blige sings “I like what I see when I’m looking at me when I’m walking pass the mirror” lol and that sentiment reminds me that I, “Adelaide Mackenzie” I don’t have to fit in or compare myself with others – and I am “Simply Me” 😊
So has I consider my favourite bible verse Philippians 4:8 (KJV)
“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things”
I am reminded that “my thoughts become my words and that my words become my actions.”
And in flow of that sentence – my words become my melody, my melodies become my songs and my songs become my journey – so come let me join you, as you travel in your days and as you share your good vibes with others and let’s connect via any of my social media links below and maybe we meet for in person for real, beyond the minutes of this world wide web.
With kindest love – from Adelaide (Child of God, I know who I am)
